US LBM marked its 15th anniversary on Oct. 30, 2024; the company was founded by President and CEO L.T. Gibson in 2009.

• US LBM was founded in 2009 with 16 locations in three states, ranking 81st in industry listings of the top 100 professionally focused building materials distributors. Today, US LBM is the largest privately owned, full-line distributor of specialty building materials in the nation, ranking 2nd overall amongst full-line distributors serving construction professionals.
• The US LBM Foundation was established in 2013 to help support the company’s goal of giving back to the communities where it operates. Since then, the Foundation has contributed more than $5.5 million to help improve the quality of life for children, veterans and those impacted by natural disasters.
• US LBM introduced its mobile application in 2014; one of the first of its kind for the professional building supply industry, the app allows customers to track orders and deliveries, check invoices and browse special offers and sales events.
• US LBM was named Dealer of the Year by HBS Dealer and ProSales magazines in 2013 and 2015, respectively.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County play an essential role in the community, operating eight clubs that serve around 4,000 kids. Their mission is to help young people reach their full potential. Earlier this month, PBS welcomed the BGC team to their Morrisville location for a day to remember. The event kicked off with a $10,000 check presentation, but the excitement didn’t stop there. PBS gave the BGC staff and enthusiastic club members a behind-the-scenes tour of their facilities, followed by a snow cone party that brought smiles all around. Gage, one of the club members, summed up the experience by saying it was “the best day of his life” and proudly declared that he would “never take off his PBS hardhat.”

Additionally, Walter was an integral member of the Lumbermen's Association of Texas (LAT), a non-profit trade association serving the Texas building materials industry, where he also served in the past as president. Walter spent over six decades as a volunteer with LAT, engaging with decision makers about important issues facing the industry and was deeply committed to leaving a stronger industry for the next generation. His work and contributions to the building materials industry was recognized by LAT, with Foxworth-Galbraith being named Dealer of the Year by the organization in 1993 and Walter himself receiving LAT’s lifetime achievement award in 2022. 

"Walter was an extraordinary leader in the building materials industry, a passionate businessman and advocate for our industry for more than 60 years, even continuing that advocacy work after he retired from Foxworth-Galbraith in 2022," said US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson. "Walter will be deeply missed, and our heartfelt thoughts and condolences go out to all his family and friends."

Internships play a crucial role in shaping our future leaders by providing invaluable real-world experiences. Offering students an opportunity to apply knowledge in a practical setting not only allows interns to develop critical skills that are essential for the ever-changing workforce.

"Internships are important to the future of the workforce because they provide us with a way to bridge the gap between what we've learned in school, and what the workforce actually consists of," said Natalie Vertin, Design Intern with ABC Panels in Minnesota. "It is a time for us to be able to make mistakes and learn from these mistakes as we are guided through real work scenarios and tasks. Without internships, it would be much more difficult to be set up for success by diving into the workforce straight after finishing our education."

We are thrilled for the opportunity in front of these young men and women and look forward to the many meaningful ways they contribute to US LBM as well as the valuable learnings they come away with. 

The US LBM Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by leading specialty building materials distributor US LBM, has recently partnered with several organizations focused on improving the quality of life for America’s veterans and their families.

This year, the US LBM Foundation has donated $550,000 to the Gary Sinise Foundation's R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) Program, which builds mortgage-free, specially adapted smart homes for our nation’s most severely wounded heroes. Since beginning its partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2020, the US LBM Foundation has contributed more than $1.1 million to the organization, with US LBM also providing discounted building materials. 

“As we’ve grown as a company and as an organization, our size and scale not only afford us the ability to help those in need, but also the responsibility to do so,” said US LBM Foundation Chairman and US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson. “It is our honor to partner with such a worthwhile organization and to contribute funds and discounted building materials toward building homes for our wounded heroes.” 

The US LBM Foundation’s recent contributions have been used to support two R.I.S.E housing projects for wounded veterans: 

• A house built in the Milwaukee area for retired U.S. Army Captain Jason Church that was completed in July. US LBM’s Wisconsin Building Supply provided discounted building materials and designed a handicap-accessible kitchen to suit Jason and his family’s needs.  
• A home outside of Chicago in St. Charles, Ill. that is currently being constructed for retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Patrick Scrogin (pictured above). US LBM’s Hines Supply has provided discounted building materials to the project, and Scrogin and his family are slated to move into their new home early next year. 

Additionally, the US LBM Foundation has partnered with the Veterans Community Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending Veteran homelessness, providing $25,000 along with US LBM providing discounted building materials to assist the building of a tiny home community in Sioux Falls, S.D. 

The Foundation also recently contributed $10,000 to the United Heroes League, which provides sporting camps and equipment to children of service members who have been deployed.

“Our veterans and their families have sacrificed so much for our country," said Gibson. “This Veterans Day, and every day, we say a heartfelt 'thank you' to everyone who has served." 

US LBM, a leading distributor of specialty building materials in the United States, has opened a new floor and roof truss manufacturing facility and building materials yard in Auburndale, Fla. 

The new, more than 100,600 square foot facility is located 40 miles northeast of Tampa and 60 miles southwest of Orlando and operates as part of US LBM's Raymond Building Supply division, which serves professional builders across Florida. In addition to operating three roof truss lines and one floor truss line, the new location also supplies residential and commercial builders in central Florida with a range of materials, including lumber, engineered wood products, cabinetry, windows, custom millwork and exterior and interior doors.

The Auburndale location is Raymond Building Supply’s third truss facility in Florida; the division of US LBM also operates manufacturing facilities in North Fort Myers and Miami. US LBM, a leading distributor of specialty building materials in the United States, has opened a new floor and roof truss manufacturing facility in Lithonia, Ga. The new location operates as part of US LBM's Brand Vaughan division and supplies floor and roof trusses to residential and commercial builders in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. 

The new 25,000 square foot truss facility operates one roof truss line and one floor truss line, provides in-house design, and uses computerized saws and technology for accurate truss set up and profiles. In addition to the new truss facility, Brand Vaughan operates seven locations across northern Georgia, providing professional builders with a wide range of materials, including lumber, engineered wood products, windows, exterior and interior doors and trim, rebar, roofing and siding.

In his new role as president, Bradburn is responsible for leading Lyman’s lumber and specialty building products distribution, labor services and manufacturing operations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area of Minnesota and in Eau Claire, Wis. Bradburn succeeds Lyman’s outgoing president, Scott Richter, who was promoted to vice president of Midwest Region Operations for US LBM, Lyman’s parent company.

Bradburn holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
